Phil was born and raised in St. Louis and is a former Manager of the Gateway Grizzlies Professional Baseball Teams as well as currently a Co-Owner of Grizzlies Baseball Academy. He is currently the longest tenured Gateway Grizzlies Manager, entering his 14th year as of 2020. In 2010, Warren passed former manager Danny Cox to become the franchise’s all-time leader in managerial wins. The former Frontier League All-Star spent the 2006 season as the Grizzlies Director of Player Personnel and was named as the fourth manager in franchise history November 3, 2006. Prior to the 2006 season, the St. Louis native spent three seasons on the playing field for the Grizzlies and parts of six seasons total in the Frontier League. Phil retired following the 2005 season, holding many of the Grizzlies career offensive records including most games, most hits, most home runs and most RBIs. He held 11 total Grizzlies career offensive records when he retired as a player. Prior to his Frontier League career, the St. Louis native played baseball at Southeast Missouri State University. He played high school baseball and soccer at St. John Vianney High School. He continues to work closely with youth baseball players and their families in the Metro East and the St. Louis area and is committed through Grizzlies Baseball Academy to help ensure a successful brand of youth baseball. He will direct Grizzlies Summer camps at GCS Ballpark and local league facilities. Phil is a Co-Owner of P&D Baseball LLC. The company owns and operates the Grizzlies Baseball Academy. Phil, his wife Sarah, and their two Labrador Retrievers, Ruger & Remi, reside in Freeburg, Illinois.

Darin (DK) is a 1996 graduate of East Prairie High School. He earned a Division I scholarship to play baseball at Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) for four years, ultimately graduating with a Sports Management and Marketing Degree in 2002. He earned several awards as a player at SEMO, including the Honorable Mention All Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Award in 1998, 1st Team All Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Award in 2000, and the All OVC Tournament Team Award in 2000. He was also a member of the 1998 team at SEMO that won the OVC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA D1 Baseball Regional Tournament. In 1998, he played summer baseball in the Northeast Collegiate Baseball League where he earned the team MVP award. He is still in the top 10 ranks for home runs and RBI in SEMO’s record book. After college, he went on to play 6 years of professional baseball, spending time in the Frontier League and the Northern League. Professionally, he is a 2-time MVP, 2-time Frontier League All Star, and ranks in the top 10 in home runs in the Frontier League record book. Since retiring from playing, he has served as a volunteer hitting coach for the Gateway Grizzlies Professional Baseball Team. He is also Co-Owner of Grizzlies Baseball Academy with current Gateway Grizzlies Manager, Phil Warren. DK specializes in hitting and serves the Metro-East area’s youth baseball movement by performing individual hitting lessons at Grizzlies Baseball Academy. He is also an asset to parents as they navigate through their son’s baseball goals. DK is newly married and currently resides in Edwardsville, Illinois.

MATT BROWN

Matt was born in St. Louis, MO. He graduated from Vianney High School in Kirkwood, MO. In 2013 Matt was named the Rising Star recipient by the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame as well as earning MCC player of the year. After graduating high school, he received an Athletic Scholarship to the University of Arkansas. After transferring from Arkansas, he attended Jefferson College where he was twice earned All Region Honors. From there, he received a baseball scholarship from Missouri State University for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. During his 2-year career for the Bears, he was part of two Missouri Valley Conference Championships as well as births in a Super Regional followed by a Regional bid in 2018. During his senior year, he hit a team leading 14 home runs and earned All-Conference Honors.  Upon graduating from Missouri State University, he was signed by the Windy City Thunderbolts of the Frontier League. After one season with the Thunderbolts, he was traded to the Gateway Grizzlies. He has played 3 years of professional baseball as an infielder/ Catcher. He is currently an instructor for Grizzlies Baseball Academy and enjoys working with the younger generation of baseball players while helping them achieve their goals.  Matt currently resides in St. Louis. Missouri.
